    Dundas Place Arts Festival

    Our block, welcome to it!

Dundas businesses downtown are celebrating their street with the first Dundas Place Arts Festival.

Dundas Street between Clarence and Wellington Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic and open to pedestrians and activities on Saturday, August 11th from 10am-5pm.

Each business will be programing outside their business with activations like artists, live entertainment, and sidewalk sales. Even some businesses impacted by construction are participating by partnering with neighbouring businesses, or setting up an activation in the street. For example, downtown vintage shop Filthy Rebena will be setting up a pop up shop in a local café and eatery, Rebel Remedy, during the Dundas Place Arts Festival.

Some of the day’s programing includes bands performing outside Grooves Records, artist demonstrations at the Jonathon Bancroft-Snell Galley, a celebration of the works of local author Roy McDonald outside Attic Books, and even a Dundas themed scavenger hunt hosted by Trapdoor London Escape Rooms.

The celebration is taking place as Dundas Street transforms into Dundas Place; London’s first flexible street. A flexible street is an accessible, curbless space that can be closed temporarily to vehicular traffic for events easier and more frequently.  It is the first transformational project of the City of London’s Our Move Forward: London’s Downtown Plan. In addition to the above-ground transformation, Dundas Street is undergoing storm sewer, sanitary sewer and utility (internet, hydro, water) renewal work. Currently, Dundas between Ridout and Richmond Streets is under construction, with the blocks between Richmond and Wellington scheduled to start construction in 2019.  Learn more at
