    Free Comic Book Day downtown!

London’s local comic shops will once again give away more than 20,000 comic books absolutely free on May 7th, 2016!

L.A. Mood Comics and Games and Heroes Comics will be participating again downtown, as well as The Comic Book Collector, Neo Tokyo, and Worlds Away in Old East Village! Visit any of these stores to pick up your free comic books!

This marks the 15th year comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops.

Unique to London’s Free Comic Book Day is the Comic Shop Crossover. Visit each of the participating comic shops to get stamps on your Free Comic Book Day passport. Not only do you get free comic books, but when you’ve visited all locations with your passport, you are entered to win some great comic prizes. Passports will be available at all the stores!

New this year, Dundas Street between Richmond Street and Clarence Street will be closed to car traffic and programed with some cool comic surprises.

The Central Library’s annual costume contest will also move to the street, while inside the library undergoes exciting renovations. Fans and comic book lovers of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters on Free Comic Book Day. Prizes are awarded to different age groups. Participants can pre-register online at www.londonpubliclibrary.ca/page/free-comic-book-costume-contest or at the Central Library. The contest begins at 2:30pm Saturday on Dundas Street between Richmond and Clarence. Register by 2pm on May 7th to participate!
