Measha Brueggergosman and Royal Wood both to perform at The Grand Theatre this summer

This August, The Grand Theatre brings two critically acclaimed Canadian artists to the MainStage, each presenting one exclusive intimate evening of inimitable musical entertainment.

    Measha Brueggergosman

    Friday, August 15, 2014, 8 p.m.

Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman has emerged as one of the most magnificent performers and vibrant personalities in the world. Her new album, I’ve Got a Crush on You, strays from the classical repertoire which has earned her the reputation as a fresh ambassador for classical music. Called “live, and fun and crazily varied” by the CBC, it features a mix of tracks ranging from gospel to reggae, Cole Porter to Joni Mitchell. “I’m an interpreter, not a writer,” says Brueggergosman. “I have the gift of allowing things to flow through me. It happens both in the modern context of the Canadian music landscape through the tunes of Gershwin and in a traditional sense through spirituals and folks songs.”

    Royal Wood

    Thursday, August, 21, 2014, 8 p.m.

On the heels of an incredibly successful tour promoting the critically acclaimed album The Burning Bright, Royal Wood has announced he will premiere material from his new companion album I Wish You Well on The Grand Theatre MainStage for the first time. Known for his soulful lyrics and fluid piano skills, Royal has been charming the world one performance at a time. Drawing on his personal experiences, both on and off the stage, Royal Wood has crafted a breathtakingly poignant album which provides a glance into his musical journey in life. “I always want to perform honest music that I connect with and am touched by,” says Wood. “And if that means I have to go out there emotionally, then I will go there emotionally.”

This engagement marks the first show that I Wish You Well will be available for purchase at a special price.

    Tickets starting at $25 available at grandtheatre.com or at 519 672 8800
