Discover the Eldon House botanical collection through two prominent Victorian-era art and craft techniques.

Join artists Gabriella Solti and Michelle Wilson in an exploration of the Eldon House’s botanical collection through cyanotype and stump embroidery. Guests will get a look at pressed botanical specimens dating back to the early 1800s that were inherited by Lucy Ronalds Harris. They are attributed to her great-grandfather Hugh Ronalds of Brentford, England, and are now part of the Eldon House museum collection. These specimens will serve as reference material for using an age old photography method in making a solar print using the sun, water and air (cyanotype), and inspiration for stump photography.
