LONDON, ON – Downtown London BIA enthusiastically applauds the City of London’s decision to extend the two hours of free municipal parking promotion in the Core Area to the first quarter of 2024.
Launched by the City to support local businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, people can access two hours of free parking in municipal lots and street parking using the promo code “CORE ” through the HonkMobile Parking App. This promotional tool welcomes many downtown patrons as they dine at local restaurants, shop at local retailers, access downtown services, and enjoy downtown events.
“Our members are still recovering from the economic impacts caused by the pandemic, and now many are also facing challenges due to construction projects in and around the downtown core.” said Barbara Maly, Executive Director of Downtown London. “It is important that patrons know that they have access to two hours of free parking as they shop, dine, and visit our downtown,”
2023 marks the City of London’s biggest year for construction to date, with over $200 million invested in construction projects across the city.
“Many of our members have expressed the importance of convenient downtown parking for their patrons amid COVID-19 economic recovery efforts and mitigating construction-related interruptions. Two-hour free municipal parking is welcome news for our business community and their patrons.”
There are 15 municipal parking lots located in Downtown London. For more information on parking in the downtown core, people can visit Downtown London’s website.
