Incentive Programs

A combination of loans and grant programs have been created to encourage investment in our neighbourhood. All properties located within the downtown boundary may be eligible for a façade grant and a tenant improvement loan, subject to availability and to meeting the program criteria.

Targeted Incentive Zone (TIZ)

  • 10-year interest-free FORGIVABLE loans; half the value of eligible costs to a maximum of:
  • $50,000 for façade improvements; grant is lesser of $12,500 or 25% of loan repayments
  • $200,000 for upgrades required by building code and/or fire code; grant is lesser of $25,000 or 12.5% of loan repayments
  • Rehabilitation Tax Grant, OR Combined Residential Development Charge and Tax Grant
