On Tuesday June 10, we presented the 2025 Downtown London Momentum Report to the City of London’s Planning & Environment Committee. The report highlights real progress:
- $646M in new construction,
- 1,456 new homes,
- over 4,700 events since 2020,
- and more than 1.18M attendees in 2024.
“We’re deeply grateful to the City of London for its sustained investment and shared vision for a vibrant downtown,” said Kristin Nielsen, Chair of the LDBA Board of Directors. “Together, we are not just recovering from the past – we are building a future where downtown is inclusive, resilient, and thriving.”
“We’re seeing more vibrancy through events like Knight’s Court and other street gatherings, these are exactly the kinds of things that bring energy and life to our city. When I hear this kind of feedback, it’s clear we’re moving in the right direction.” said Shawn Lewis, Deputy Mayor of the City of London.
We’re working to foster a downtown that works for everyone. That means continuing to invest in improvements, support local businesses, and strengthen partnerships that enhance the experience for all who live, work, and visit the core.
“The City is seeing the change, and I know that a year from now, we’re going to see even more progress. We all know the state downtown was in a few years ago, and it’s clear we’re not in that place anymore. Things are much better. This momentum report reflects exactly that – it shows we’re still moving forward.” said David Ferreira, Ward 13 Councillor for the City of London.
⭐️ The momentum is real and growing.
