The LDBA Supports City’s Downtown Plan
Downtown London recently spoke in support of the City’s proposed Downtown Plan, recognizing it as an important step toward strengthening the economic, cultural, and civic heart of our city.

The Plan outlines clear actions, timelines, accountability measures, and partnerships to help guide downtown revitalization. We are particularly encouraged by the proposed downtown Office, which would help streamline processes, improve coordination among partners, and make it easier for businesses, property owners, and investors to navigate City services.

We also support the Plan’s focus on addressing vacancies, attracting investment, retaining jobs, improving public amenities, and enhancing the overall downtown experience. A vibrant and successful downtown benefits all of London, generating significant economic activity and tax revenue that supports services across the city.

As the Plan moves forward, Downtown London looks forward to working with the City and community partners to support implementation, advocate for additional funding opportunities, and help deliver measurable improvements for businesses, residents, workers, and visitors.

Board members serve in a governance role, providing strategic direction and oversight to support a strong, resilient downtown business community.

Coming Soon: Downtown London Member App
Downtown London is preparing to launch a new member app with Loqiva, a digital platform that will help bring downtown business information, events, promotions and updates together in one place.

As part of the launch, downtown businesses will be able to use the app to share events and promotions, helping increase visibility and making it easier for people to discover what is happening downtown.

To help us get businesses set up, we are asking each member to complete a short contact form. Each business will need to provide a primary contact name and email address. Where possible, please use an email address that will continue to work even if the primary contact changes.

Over the next few weeks, businesses will receive an email from Loqiva with instructions to create an account. Please continue to watch Business Insider for more updates as we move closer to launch.

Lane Closure Notice
Precautionary long term lane closure on Kensington Bridge

The Kensington Bridge downtown has been reduced to one vehicle lane as a precautionary measure to reduce the weight of vehicles on the bridge at any one time. This traffic change will help extend the bridge’s use until The City’s planned construction project to rehabilitate the nearly 100-year-old bridge begins in 2028.

The City will continue to inspect Kensington Bridge, but this measure is out of an abundance of caution. The bridge remains open to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians during this time. They will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed to ensure the ongoing safe operation of this important connection.
