Western and Fanshawe’s Spring Convocations Are Coming Downtown! 🎓

Downtown London is excited to welcome thousands of graduates and their families this June as Western University and Fanshawe College host their Spring Convocation ceremonies in the core!

Western University · June 9–13
Western University kicks off a new five-year partnership with Canada Life Place, moving its Spring Convocation ceremonies to the core. From June 9 to 13, nine ceremonies will take place at the venue and along Dundas Place (Ridout to Talbot)—bringing celebration, tradition, and purple pride to the core.

Fanshawe College · June 16–19
Fanshawe follows with four days of ceremonies from June 16 to 19, also held at Canada Life Place. With two ceremonies each day at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, graduates, their families, and faculty will mark this important milestone—surrounded by great local restaurants, shops, and public spaces.

📌 What to Expect in the Core
With more than 50,000 visitors expected over two weeks, the core will see increased daytime activity—especially near Canada Life Place, Dundas Street, and surrounding businesses.

It’s a great opportunity to showcase your business. Consider updating your storefront or offering special promotions to celebrate grads and their families. Let’s give them a warm downtown London welcome! 👏

Momentum Report

We’ve submitted our 2025 Momentum Report to the City of London, showcasing the evolution of downtown since 2020: from growth and revitalization, to City-supported grants, community events, and more.

Join us as the report is presented to the Planning and Environment Committee on Tuesday, June 10 at 1:00 PM in Council Chambers. Our Board Chair, Kristin Nielsen, will be in attendance to speak to the report if the committee invites comment.
