2026 Downtown London Surveys

This year, Downtown London will be launching two short surveys to better understand what it’s like to operate a business downtown and to strengthen our advocacy work on behalf of our members.

📌 In April, we will be sharing a Community Well-Being Survey focused on downtown conditions and how they impact businesses.
📌 Later this summer, we will follow up with an Economic Well-Being Survey focused on business performance and outlook.

Based on feedback from past surveys, we’ve streamlined both surveys this year to make them shorter and easier to complete, while still capturing the insights that matter most.

⭐ Each survey will take approximately 2-3 minutes to complete.

Your feedback plays an important role in helping us represent downtown businesses in conversations with the City and other partners! We look forward to sharing more details soon.

Downtown Plan Progress Update

The Consultant Team, in collaboration with City of London staff, is continuing the Phase 2 engagement for the Downtown Plan. In February, the engagement included conversations with City Staff and other key Downtown partners. In addition, there was a public Virtual Webinar in early February where members of the London community learned about the progress of the plan and shared their thoughts and questions about the draft actions.

Key findings from the Virtual Webinar include:

  • Safety, Wellbeing, and Social Supports
  • Downtown as a Complete Neigbourhood
  • Activation, Arts, and Culture
  • Access, Mobility, and Public Realm
  • Governance and Partnership

York Street Construction Notice

York Street construction will resume on March 16, 2026, as part of the City’s ongoing infrastructure renewal project. Work between Wellington Street and Colborne Street will take place in two stages.

Stage 1 (March 16 to approximately the end of June) will include a full closure of York Street between Wellington and Colborne, while the York & Colborne intersection remains open and access to local businesses and parking is maintained.

Stage 2 (July to approximately the end of September) will involve the full closure of the York & Colborne intersection as work continues. Additional work between Clarence Street and Wellington Street will involve temporary lane closures.

Drivers should expect delays and follow posted detours, with navigation apps such as Google Maps or Waze recommended for alternate routes. During construction, sidewalk restrictions may occur but accessible pedestrian paths will be maintained, cyclists are encouraged to use nearby streets, and some London Transit routes or stops may be temporarily impacted. 🚧

📌 Please reach out to your City project manager or alternate at any time during construction:
