The OUT and ABOUT Core Area
Gift Card!
Let’s welcome back employees to the core and invite them to explore!
With more employees returning to their workplaces this fall, the Out and About Core Area Gift Card encourages returning and already-onsite workers to get out and support local businesses during their breaks. The gift card is distributed by the Downtown London and Old East Village BIAs to people who work in the Core Area. This includes paid and volunteer work. The gift card is valid until December 31, 2022.
How businesses can accept and redeem the gift card
1. Accept the card from a customer
The gift card can be accepted by any business in the Core Area, including in Downtown London, Midtown, and Old East Village. There is no fee to participate and businesses are redeemed 100% for all gift cards spent at their business.
2. Apply the card to a purchase
The cards are valued at $25 towards goods and services. Cards are not redeemable for cash, and change is not provided for customers’ purchases of less than $25 with the card.
3. Redeem spent cards
Businesses can redeem gift cards spent at their establishment for equal value at the Downtown London or Old East Village BIA office.
Grant Opportunity for Storefront Level
Businesses!
With the holiday’s fast approaching Downtown London encourages businesses to decorate their storefronts and participate in this years holiday window display contest.
To help businesses prepare, Downtown London is offering a one time grant of $500 to all storefront level businesses who are wishing to participate to cover the costs of decorating materials, holiday/winter decor, lights, seasonal outdoor plants, etc.
We encourage all merchants who are interested to reach out as soon as possible as there is limited funding available. By applying for this grant you are automatically entered into Downtown London’s 2022 Window Display Contest where we will once again offer prizes for the best decorated storefronts/windows! Participating merchants will be featured on our website on an online voting page where businesses, customers and all visitors of the downtown can go and vote for their favourite decorated business!
