Webinar: Building a Reinvention System

Here is the reality: surviving disruption is no longer a one-time project. There is no “beginning time” and “ending time” – disruption is constant. Reinvention is a system to help businesses build healthy renewal cycles to ensure current and future viability. Building a Reinvention System begins with a Reinvention Mindset and Culture. This system is critical to thrive in chaos and achieve the desired performance outcomes in continuous disruption. It is about preparing your business and team, for any change at any time.
This FREE webinar will take place on Wednesday, May 25th at 3PM. Registration is required. Learn more about this event by visiting the link below.

Downtown London Marketplace Closure

As you know, Downtown London’s Marketplace was first launched in 2020 during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform was designed to help local businesses during provincial lockdowns when their businesses were forced to remain closed; limiting customers and their profits. The Online Marketplace helped to facilitate curb side pick up and online shopping options.

This platform was part of a pilot program. Since launch, provincial restrictions have eased and businesses have been able to open their doors to allow customers to shop in person again, along with the creation of their own online shopping platforms.
After much thought and consideration, a decision has been made to discontinue the Downtown London Marketplace effective Friday, June 3rd, 2022.
Our team will handle taking down the virtual storefronts for all participating businesses and removing all marketing pointing customers to this platform. We ask that you confirm you have received this message prior to the date of the platform’s shutdown.

Thank you for signing up on the platform and being an active member of the Downtown London community. For those of you interested in setting up an e-commerce platform for your business, please feel free to contact us and we will connect you with the Digital Main Street program. Should you have any questions, please contact vicki@downtownlondon.ca.

Downtown London’s Clean Team is Now Pressure Washing!

You’ve probably seen our dedicated clean team before as they work year round to help keep downtown clean. Now on Tuesday and Thursday this summer you will see the team out pressure washing storefronts! We think this additional service will be a great aid for all merchants downtown as we know how hard everyone works in maintaining a clean and vibrant storefront. Our teams are constantly monitoring the downtown area and do their best to spot problems quickly after they occur, but if you are looking to have the team come out to pressure wash your storefront please reach out to Hailey at members@downtownlondon.ca.

All Are Welcome Here

The London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership currently has a campaign called, All Are Welcome Here. This campaign provides free lawn signs, bumper stickers and window decals that are posted around the city to promote inclusion and a welcoming spirit. You have likely seen them around! These are simple resources for businesses to post and to identify a positive reputation for themselves as a business that is a safe space for all members of our community.

Call for businesses! You are invited to showcase local interactive art in your storefront window!

This photography and movement art installation, generously funded by the London Arts Council and entitled “Still, Life”, is created by the local artist collective Public Displays of Art (PDA). This series of large photography images come to life when viewers scan the images with their phones. It explores themes of urban decay, feminism, fertility, and the body as a site of care and generation, and uses Augmented Reality to encourage the community to engage and interact with the art. All that is required of businesses is an open storefront window where a poster (approx. 3’x4’) could be placed for the month of July 2022. This opportunity is free to take part in and will provide enhanced foot traffic to your location, while also supporting local artists in our community. If you are interested, please contact Hailey at members@downtownlondon.ca.
